COVID-19 Response

Dear Valued Patrons,

The safety of our patrons, artists, volunteers, and staff is our highest priority. At this time there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hays County. Our staff is continuing to monitor the situation closely. At this present time there are no cancellations or closures planned for Wimberley Players events. We are taking several measures to limit the spread of the virus at our theater:

  • We are sanitizing our most used surfaces including doorknobs, tables, and counter tops daily

  • We are sanitizing handrails and chairs in the theater

  • We are encouraging all staff and volunteers to wash their hands frequently, especially before/after eating or using the restroom

  • We are asking everyone to limit touching their face and eyes

  • We are requesting all staff/volunteers to stay home if they are feeling ill or if they have been traveling outside of our area

  • We are allowing our staff to work from home when necessary

  • We have posted signage about proper hand washing techniques and are providing hand sanitizing stations in the lobby for public events

In the event that Hays County or the City of Wimberley requires us to close down during the run of a show, The Wimberley Players will offer three options for ticket holders:

  1. Donating the cost of your tickets in exchange for a charitable contribution letter. In the event of a closure, The Wimberley Players will take a major loss on ticket and bar sales. If you are able to donate the cost of your tickets, we would greatly appreciate it. We still incur expenses during closures. These include things like building costs and staff salaries. Any contributions during a forced closure are extremely helpful.

  2. Exchanging your tickets. The Wimberley Players will allow exchanges for another non-effected performance of the same show OR allow exchanges to a non-effected performance of a different show. If the original ticket was for a non-musical performance and the patron wishes to exchange to a musical performance, The Wimberley Players will still charge the amount of the price difference between the two shows.

  3. Refunds. According to the Wimberley Players Policies and Procedures Manual, refunds may be offered for cancelled performances.

The Wimberley Players will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep patrons informed. Currently, there is no indication that we will be forced to close. If you would like more information about the current status of COVID-19, please visit the CDC website here. We are encouraging everyone to wash their hands and remain home if they are feeling unwell. If you have any questions regarding our specific situation, you may contact Executive Manager Simone Corprew at manager@wimberleyplayers.org. Thank you for your patience with this matter.

Respectfully,

The Wimberley Players Staff
