Call for Spooky Actors
We are happy to announce that the ghouls and ghosts will be making an appearance again this Halloween at The Wimberley Players and 7A Ranch Haunted Pioneer Town. Performances will be Fri.-Sun., Oct. 29-31. We are hoping to have everyone return to perform and help create settings. We will be making some exciting changes that will add to the excitement, allow for our actors to be safely distanced from the patrons, and give actors the opportunity to create some of the scenes.
The primary change is moving actors from the town to the train area. 7A Resort has been working to bring back the train. We plan to have HPT patrons ride the train with a narrator and view varied scenes along the mile-long ride. Actors will be spread out along the route and patrons cannot get off the train. This provides that safe distance. Since we are spread out, we need plenty of adults in each scene. Actors will be asked to improvise a character and scene in their area. Actors can make some sounds, but they will not need to speak much because of the difficulty of hearing them.
We would also like actors to help decorate their area. As you can imagine, it is a lot of space for two women to decorate alone. We hope to arrange meeting dates for actors of each scene during which we would work together to set up the scene. We have a lot of supplies and decorations but will welcome contributions from any of you. It is our hope that many hands will make light work.
The town itself will still be decorated so patrons can walk through before or after their train ride. Drinks and snacks will be sold in the Opera House. The ice cream shop and the arcade will be open, as in the past.
Please respond to let us know you wish to participate and which scene you would like to work on. The list of scenes is below. Please feel free to invite others to join in. Again, we need several adults, so parents are asked to join in. There will be an organizational meeting in early September. We look forward to returning to our old haunts (and expanding them)!!
